What the title says. I installed the 3.6.10 mediavps and nightly build 5034, and this is what happened:
I notice that as I approach the ships, the detail returns, and things begin to look the way they did in 3.6.9. This makes me thing this is an issue with mipmapping. I need help here. Is there any way to deliberately force the mipmapping off other than unchecking "enable mipmapping?" Is there some other way to increase the quality? This is getting very frustrating having the newest cutting edge graphics look like complete **** because the mipmapping is getting out of hand. I tried three different Nightly builds and each one has the same end result, and mipmapping is always, always on. Either there is a severe error with the nightly builds capable of the 3.6.10 mediavps, some setting got shot to hell or perhaps my system is crappy. The 3.6.9 mediavps looked better than this. Please anybody, help.

I'm out of my depth here, but I'll offer what I can
Check your custom flags and your launcher settings, if anythings looking 'weird', turn it off
Also check your mediavps folder and check you don't have any conflicting vp files (check the release thread for what should be there)

As a friendly reminder: it is not polite to ask the same question on several boards.
Perchance you should run a debug build and post your fs2_open.log. That might tell us something.
The 3.6.9 mediavps
No such things.

Walk us through your FS2 Install, did you use Turey's installer?
-
For installing the last official release, yes. I downloaded and manually placed 4985, 4989 and 5034 builds. Currently have DeusExMachina, Blue Planet, Sync, Derelict, FSPort, Transcend, the JADs, Cardinal Spear, Homesick and a few other mods. All \data\cache files have been purged.

Hmm. Odd. Like Lobo said, run a 3.6.10 debug build and post your fs2_open.log.

True. I mean the last released mediavps, whatever they were. I'll try running a debug build when I get the chance.

Sorry, didn't mean to be rude. I'll avoid doing so in the future.

In addition to it being impolite you can very easily screw yourself over if you get two conflicting pieces of advice and try to do them both. :)

I've attached the result of running a debug build without any table mods since it crashes if I use my modified tables.
Just out of curiosity, how will you interpret this mess?

/me Shutters as he sees the phrases "Intel 945G" and "OpenGL Version : 1.4.0"
Can you find any newer drivers for your card?
You should be using 32 bit color as well.
-
in my experience if yu run mvps on an intel 945 card then you will get about 10fps and the maxium you will get is ogl 1.4
For OpenGL 2.1 you'd need at least a 965 (or a 946GZ).
heres a link to a discussion........

Nothing to add to the previous posts. Intel GPUs suck arse and 32-bit colours are better than 16-bit.
Update: A similar issue was solved recently. It involved a corrupt MV_Assets.vp. Try redownloading MV_Complete.vp or downloading the MediaVPs separately.
