What about a couple of new pictures as well as some few updates for the Dev Blog / Gallery threads ?
And this one is for the admins. Would be possible to turn on the custom avatars for we the mortal fans of this game in here?

HLP is pretty conservative about avatars, in general. Aside from project badges, very few people are permitted an avatar. The idea is to focus attention on the content of posts rather than the decoration.
As for the other, I'm certainly not on the Diaspora team, but Kara at least has dropped a few hints about how busy he's been with Diaspora lately, so presumably things are moving forward.

With "very few people" meaning administrators. Personally, I think that avatars wouldn't be the death of us. It's the images in signatures that can nuke any community. But I'm not going to start tilting at windmills here.

HLP has proved time and again that they can't be trusted with textual sigs. You're certainly not getting picture avatars until you can. :p
As for updates. When we get quiet that is an update. We don't go silent running very often, and we won't do it for long when we do. :p

Why do i read here: we're on something big?
I'm expecting that a DEV is posting a DL link to R1 any moment.
It's either the fact that the team has gone silent and Karajorma's posts about being occupied by Diaspora,
OR
i'm so anxious awaiting the release, that i'm interpreting to much into things. :p
I'm also pretty hyped by the start of season 4.5, so this comes also into play...

Uh, no, you're not getting R1 that soon - so don't be disappointed when you don't see that link tomorrow :)

Yeah, forgot to mention that, don't hold your breath just yet, we don't want everyone unconscious when it does get released ;)

It's not R1. As I've said in the past you'll know when R1 is coming cause you'll have seen updates about Missions being complete, voice acting underway and beta testing starting.
Those of you who remember the BtRL release will remember seeing much the same posts from me back then. Quietness means a big update rather than release. :)

You'd probably find that shockingly hard actually. :D
It might actually be a fun experiment to see how quickly someone could get a TC up and running using nothing but placeholders for everything and still have it work. Personally I think we're still talking about several weeks worth of work.
