Title: i keep getting this error...
Post by: Psychotubax86 on January 22, 2009, 03:54:27 pm
Error: Bad ID in model file <bombardier.pof>
File: ModelRead.cpp
Line: 2116

I tried starting a new campaign, but after the introductory video, the game crashes with this error.  I just redownloaded everything with the installer.  I also downloaded the .ini file for the blue planet mod and it solved one error, but created this one

Select a debug build and run it until you get this error. There will then be a file called fs2_open.log in your \freespace2\data\ folder. Post it here.

Off the top of my hat, I'm guessing corrupt MediaVPs.

I reinstalled the mediavps and the problem went away.  Thanks for pointing me in the right direction

And don't stop until you've finished AoA. You won't regret that decision!  ;)

Try using a 3.6.9 build for that mission.

Or you could try to use the build the linked to in the mediaVP releasethread.
I remember reading something about it being a "nightly build" or something like that and the exe is called "fs2_open_3_6_10r-20081210_r4989.exe".
I played through the entire AoA campaign with the only problem being that the cains and liliths in forced entry were unarmed.

But of course, who would complain about that
