Alright, I'm using a DSL 502T router, and I haven't the slightest idea on how to enable port forwarding on the little bastard. ATM I'm trying to host a game for a few of my friends to play co-op campaign together, we're all using 3.6.10 mvps and the same nightly build, I try to host and the game doesn't show up on fs2netd, I followed the getting started multi wiki to the letter, then I tried the part about enabling port forwarding....problem being, my router screen doesn't look like that.
The closest I've got is going to Advanced/Virtual Server/user, and im faced with
Rule Name- FS2 Open
Protocol- UDP/TCP
Port Start- 7808
Port end- 7808
Port Map- WTF
Port Map End- WTF
I think I'm on the right track to enable port forwarding, but what teh_fawk is port map and port map end
There's also something called IP Inbound/Outbound Filter, should I be looking at that?

Moved, because I'm certain that you'll get more responses about a multiplayer issue on the multiplayer board.
Also, did you read the stickied "Getting started" thread on this board?

Yeah, I had a look at it, I clicked the link to the gamewarden forum topic about getting it working which detailed port forwarding, my issue being, my router interface looks nothing like that. I followed all the steps on both the wiki, and the getting started thread. I *think* I've got port 7808 open, I just used 7808 as the port map and it accepted it, I'm going to open 7117 now as well and see if it makes a difference.
EDIT: I opened 7808 and 7117 on TCP and UDP, and I'm still at a loss because it doesn't show up on FS2Net. I have an account (Slasherzza), and I've got it working in FS2, I can succesfully connect to the lobby etc and I can see my friends in the lobby when they connect. Only problem still remaining is the hosting issue. I've replaced the .cfg, got the mission pack, and followed all the steps in the wiki and the FAQ (they were pretty much teh same anyway)

mmmmm
ok go into the game , go to options and click the multi options , make sure you have pxo enabled and that your pilots fs2netd name and password are exactly the same as they are in fs2netd
can you join a game that some one else hosts ?
because port forwarding is not needed for this , so if you cant join its another problem?
other than that hopefully fubar will help.....

Well the mate I was gonna play co-op with is off now so I can't test that, but we could chat in the lobby and I could log in fine (all the usual dialogue came up about logging into pxo etc etc)

To host your IP needs to be visible to the net as well. This may be a setting in your firewall.
I've also had problems with Norton AntiVirus (the antivirus not the firewall) blocking FS2. If you use NAV try turning it off.
