Is there a way to have specified ships attack a certain ship type, instead of giving individual attack orders in the initial-orders box?
-
Don't know, but it would be nice if there was. One thing I love about XW:A is that you can order wingmen to attack a ship type, instead of just an individual ship. A feature like this in FS2 would be awesome.
-
Can you give a better example of what you mean? Are you talking about a type of ship like fighter/bomber/cruiser or a class like Orion, Hecate, etc? Also how many ships/wings we talking (both attacking and being attacked)
-
Sounds like Ship-A attacks any and every ship of Ship-B's class.
Beta wing consisting of Perseus fighters attacks any wing consisting of Medusas.
Best way is to have attack full wing orders.

I mean to have fighter groups A and B attack cruisers C,D,E and F, while still attacking the fighters that pose a threat around them. Hope this helps a bit.
-
Well you get 5 initial orders so that would cover that. Just give them order to attack each cruiser and one order to attack any target. Adjust the priorities as you like.
There may be other more complex ways of doing it but why if there are only 4 caps?
-
Just to make this clear... If you give them the attack any target, they'll attack any hostile, but not friendly's?
-
Yep, only hostiles.
-
Hostile, traitor and possibly one of the other IFF classes but not friendly.

Stupid question about the "attack any ship" but thanks for the help. It should work now.
