Title: crash dump thing
Post by: Quest_techie on January 30, 2009, 08:56:39 pm
Error:
Web cursor bitmap not found.  This is most likely due to one of three reasons:
   1) You're running FreeSpace Open from somewhere other than your FreeSpace 2 folder;
   2) You've somehow corrupted your FreeSpace 2 installation;
   3) You haven't installed FreeSpace 2 at all.
Number 1 can be fixed by simply moving the FreeSpace Open executable file to the FreeSpace 2 folder.  Numbers 2 and 3 can be fixed by installing or reinstalling FreeSpace 2.  If neither of these solutions fixes your problem, you've found a bug and should report it.
File:J:\src\cvs\fs2_open_3_6_9.final\code\Graphics\2d.cpp
Line: 1526
[This filename points to the location of a file on the computer that built this executable]

Call stack:
------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------

it's a bug, I checked the other stuff.

Do you even have FreeSpace2 installed?  You have to have it before FS2_Open.

yes, it's installed, it's c:\games\Freespace 2

it's all in there.

How did you install FSO, did you use Turey's installer, or did you manually download all the components?

Are you certain? Because that error doesn't pop up unless one of those three conditions is met: either
- your FSO builds and the Launcher are not in \freespace2\, in which case moving them there will solve the issue
- your FS2 installation is corrupt, in which case a reinstall will solve the issue
- you do not have FS2 installed, in which case installing FS2 will solve the issue.

Note: Turey's FSO Installer does not install FreeSpace2!
