Title: Movie Making software?
Post by: starbug on February 09, 2009, 04:53:53 am
I was wondering if anyone could help me by recommending any good movie making and editing software? I have started to do stop motion but have found that windows movie maker just doesn't do what i need and it always crashes after a while, the things i am trying to do is like have one film running and another on top but faded, like a title sequence or a flashback. Can anyone recommend any software, now i am not loaded and can't afford £700 for adobe products? Would be greatly appreciated

Pinnacle Studio 12 is my program of choice. Me and my friends used to make a series of SWAT videos (NO, I WILL NOT GIVE YOU THE YOUTUBE LINK  ;) ), and Pinnacle far surpassed moviemaker in all respects.

No probs, Adobe Hollywood Effects Pro (or whatever the name is) and FxHome studio are both good programs, however the first can be quite high in the price range. I own FxHome studio for special effects editing (muzzle flashes etc), however it does suffer from some bugs and can be tedious to use, however it does the job. Adobe Hollywood effects allows movie editing and effects so in that respect it is at least 'kinda' worth it, however as you said, they are ridiculously expensive and I assume you'll only need Pinnacle Studio 12.

yeah i'll prob just go for Pinnacle Studio 12 Ultimate, found it on play.com for £60 instead of the £100 on the Pinnacle website, as i have FxHome studio already to do special effects ie lasers and the flashing lights on daleks, as you say it does have a few bugs but i like it. So thanks very much for your help.

Is that movie making or effects software?

My lecturer says that there are very few differences between Express and Pro, so... :p

I see, I should probably get around to using apple for movie-editing.

Dalek Battlechant(power of the Daleks)

Exterminate, Annihilate, Destroy!
Daleks conquer and destroy!
Daleks conquer and destroy!
Daleks conquer and destroy!
Daleks conquer and destroy

:drevil: Yes, or else he's living one...

If you're looking for Dalek models, there's some really good free ones for download, though judging by your signature, you probably already have them by now!

And, - well, there's a red one. I've never seen that on T.V.

I agree. iMovie works horribly when making frame-for-frame animations.
