Title: How did Lightspeed make his nebulae?
Post by: Hellstryker on February 13, 2009, 08:07:38 pm
While I am aware of the fact that Lightspeed vanished five years ago, I was wondering if he ever told people how he made his now famous nebulae. Don't get me wrong, they're wonderful, but i'm honestly getting tired of seeing the same thing over and over again. Nebulae made in Apophysis look wonderful, but it's damn near impossible to get consistent results, and take hours to make. So,  :blah:

I'm sure a few were like pictures of clouds recolored...

Mmmm, they were still awesome in comparison to the retail nebulae.

You can probably make some fair nebulas in GIMP.

Yeah, easier said than done.

Well, advanced lighting effects may take a little work, but I made a relatively simple one in a few minutes.

Oh? Let's see it. It's easy to make a simple featureless cloud, but lightspeeds are so much more than that. And what I want is an upgrade or something equal in quality so long as it's different, not a downgrade.
