Post by: Leeko on February 24, 2009, 11:19:01 pm
Anyone know where I can get the music from Blue Planet? I can't get it out of my head! >.<
Please and thanks.

you can get it out of the Blue Planet VP file.

Yeah, extracting it from the VP (use a tool like Maja) is your best bet.  Also:

In addition, Darius posted a few links on the internet where you can listen to the more popular music used in AoA (such as the one played in Forced Entry) on a page in the original release thread IIRC.

someone should link those welcome beams to one of those old welcome things, with the flamethrowers and carl the shivan.

I think those were on the old side, whose domain has expired now :(

Okay, I downloaded it. Now how do I use Maja to extract the music files?

Sorry to bother, I never played anything more than retail FreeSpace, FS2, and INFR1 until about a month ago so I'm semi-new to the FreeSpace modding community...

Start Maja. Open your \blueplanet\ folder with Explorer. Drag the Blue Planet .vp over the "Untitled" folder in Maja. When asked, select to import as a package. Find the \music\ folder, right-click it and select "Export Directory".

No.

Aim certainly is the best track for dogfighting.

My favourite was "Machines" aka Harkonnen Force from Emperor: Battle for Dune

Ah, that's a shame. I didn't notice my old domain had expired. I'll have to find another place to upload the songs to.

Considering that maybe 15% of HLP's membership even knows what those jokes mean anymore, I say no.

+1

Seriously, that track(aim.mp3) has a favored spot on my mp3 player, and I would want to know who the artist is and if he has any similar works.

Unfortunately there aren't any similar works, although the person that made Aim does have some more tracks.

Apparently, all the music credits are in the readme.
