Title: Coop in FSPort + eventually Coop for ST:R
Post by: Kraid on February 27, 2009, 08:01:44 am
Hey guys, ive been playing Freespace 1 with my friends when I was young, such good times...
Well, a few days ago i found the old FreeSpace-Discs, and installed it again.
After googling a bit, I've read about the SourceCode-Project and stuff, right after that I did everything what stood in this thread:
http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,59120.0.html
(By the way, HOLY CRAP, this looks ****ing amazing now!)
So, right now I'm planning a LAN with all of my friends who have been playing Freespace in these old times,
and now my question is: Is it possible to play FSport or eventually SilentThreat:Reborn in Coop?
If none of them, how about Freespace 2?
Oh and with all of that, I mean the entire campaign!
Thanks in advance :)

EDIT:
Oh and by the way, i got a 1440x900 Widescreen-Monitor, and ships disappear on the left and right side of the screen.
I guess because rendering is set to 4:3 and everything what is not in the 4:3-view does not get rendered.

FSPort does contain multilayer missions.  You can play them by just setting FSPort (or the FSPort-mvp) directory as the mod on each computer.  Be careful though if you pick a regular FS2 mission you will crash.  You have to know which ones are FS2 and which ones are FSPort.

For the widescreen problem you will need a recent 3.6.10 build which you also need for the latest FSPort and the MediaVPs.  You can find the builds in the Knightly builds forum.

Hey, thanks for the answer.
The widescreen-thingy was indeed fixed with the new mediavps, i found that out by myself :p
About the coop-missions: There doesnt seem to be a campaign--coop or something, too bad :/
But i guess we will blast away the evening with other stuff too :p

No, the widescreen issue is fixed in the 3.6.10 builds, not the MediaVPs.
