Title: The Derelict campaign is bugged (at least, mine is)

whenever i play this campaign, I can never get past the first mission because NOTHING happens.

In the briefing objectives, it says to eliminate pirates that may show up.

But they dont.

After the funny conversation about duct tape and crappy equipment, i sped up my game to 64x its speed but no pirates, no nothing ever shows up.

So i return to base and i was told that i wasnt authorised to return, blah blah blah.

my derelict is obviously buggy, can anyone help?

Hmmm, that's not sounding right

Have you tried downloading the campaign again? The pirates do take a while to show up, how long do u wait on 64x compression. They should show up soon on that level but I'm not that sure.

I've heard of this issue once.

To get the stupid elementary questions out of the way: did you happen to hear someone (the station of the cruiser) mention that a freighter is deviating from its course and that you should investigate (i.e. scan the freighter)? If yes, do that and things will happen. If not, we'd need a bit more information than just "Derelict is bugged". Things like
- your build
- the contents of your \derelict\ folder
- your fs2_open.log after you've tried to play the mission with a debug build.
