Im getting a prompt coming up like the following;
fs2_open_3_6_9.exe - Unable To Locate Component
This application has failed to start because OpenAL32.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.
Reinstalling would take ages :( Is there any way around it? Is there somewhere i can just download that file? or someone able to send it to me?

Did you install OpenAL? Install it or try reinstalling it. There is more info on it in the help topics.
-
It means you need OpenAL32.dll
It is highly advisable to use an official installer rather than finding the single file yourself, though.
No, you do not have to reinstall. That's just Windows being stupid.
Edit: what he said.

Reinstalling OpenAL should take 1.3 seconds at most.

There's also a link to the OpenAL installer in my signature. If it doesn't help, follow the OpenAL-related instructions here (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,56279.msg1180353.html#msg1180353).

Missed a bracket at the end of the opening "quote" tag.
