Title: Curse of Creativity
Post by: blackhole on March 19, 2009, 10:50:28 pm
Possibly the worst thing in the entire world is to get an awesome song idea the night your 10-page essay is due.

I'm so creative, that I can't finish one idea before I get a better one! (Does that answer your questions?)

What to vote if you are not creative at all and don't like bunnies?

I'm creative in some situations but not at all in others. I tend to be creative on the spot in extreemly short periotds of time, mot notably between takeoff and landing while participating in any of the extreme sports I beat myself up with and right before I fall asleep. That is truely aggrivating.

Oh yeah, bed is when i get all my ideas, and then forget them in the morning. But by the time i'm in bed, i'm too fargone to get a pen and paper.

you need to start something and learn how to finish.. had the same problem

what helped me was to start something and only thinking about what I was doing, yeah sure I got newer and better ideas in the process but I didn't stop what I was doing, I just spent a couple minutes more thinking how to include that into my current work.

Write it down, work on it later if that essay is really that important.
Otherwise, multitask (or forget it altogether :P)

Problem is, I do compromise. But then I make another. And another. And so on. By the end of day one, it will be completely different.

I always get an inspiration in making things whenever I doing something else . . . when I sit down and work on something, an inspiration for that never appears.

Remeber kids, don't drink and socialize; it more than doubles your chance of looking like an idiot.  And now you know, and knowing is half the battle.  G.I. JOE!

/me has voted.

I'm not exactly a very creative person. In fact, creativity eludes me almost as well as girls do. :drevil:

I find the admittedly daunting task of writing a five hundred-page novel much more exciting than f*cking high school.

Well, so do I, but I'm currently on writer's block, so I'm not doing much work. :blah:

Drawing and writing works for me - creating music is annoying (but I want to make a really good song one day), since I don't have or know how to make samples that sound right. Making levels in games is good too, as long as there isn't masses of options and lists that take ages to put in for a good level. A lot of good ideas come up while I'm in bed - if they're good enough, I'll get up and write them down. Actually, this thread is making me feel like I want to create something...

If I had a decent attention-span, I could be submitting a portfolio for the AP drawing exam. -.-; Sucks not being able to finish anything that could be really cool.

Done! (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,61886.new.html#new)

Creativity is a problem for me, since I find that if I begin working on a new project I am unlikely to ever finish the previous one; similarly, I find that if I let myself stray from writing the scenes of a story in their proper order (i.e. okay I've got no idea where to go at the moment, but I can do the next big thing in the story) I'm not very likely to finish it either.

I tend to prefer coming up with entirely new universes for each of my stories.

I'm not good at writing out of order, either. Too hard to get passing references right.

At least then you have more of an excuse to not do it than just sitting your ass procrastinating...*cough*
