Wow, looks like pure sex.

What's it supposed to be? A cruiser?

Heavy Battle Cruiser/Battleship.  It should be freespace ready.  Is about 3980 triangles.  I don't like texturing.  If someone is up for the task?

pretty good ship. i would however recommend textured it yourself. i see a lot of good models that never get textures, or good textures, because people wait for someone else to do it.

Wow, looks like pure sex.

not that you would know what pure sex looks like.

Your right, only thing is I lack the time, interests, and perhaps even the skill to do it.  I was never really good with texturing.  Special effects on the other hand, are my forte.

can you give us a 3/4 view?

As a Textureur, I love doing all this!  :D

However, I'm way too busy at the moment with TotT and other commitments. You may not like texturing, but I do advise everyone who builds models to at least complete several with texturing. Why? So you get the understanding the problems we texturers face with models that are not texture friendly.

You will gain an understanding of what problems we have with such matters as stretching with the UV Map placements etc. A well laid out UV map will cut down on lots of the problems, make things go faster and actually be easier to work with. Same goes for tiling too.You only gain an insight on this from texture experience and I highly recommend you give it a try. Have a plan on what you want and do several sketches on how you wish this ship to look like. Plan your tiling and UN mapping carefully so it can be used by others and not be so restrictive. I see plenty of UV maps that were not done well enough and were rushed just so they would get that aspect done and over with. When that happens, it nearly ruins all the hard work you did making the model in the first place.

some of these newer models get pretty tedius when it comes to uv mapping them. especially when your normal mapping it and cant really mirror anything. while my older 200-300 poly models were fairly easy to uv map, my newer uv jobs seem an order of magnitude more complicated. its really slowed down my model creation pipeline.

Are you sure about this Nuke?

Not quite sure what you are asking for.  Sorry.  Did you want a perspective view?

Nice model. Extruded from a cube, or multiple shapes glued together...

Wow, looks like pure sex.

You're doing it wrong.

As for the ship, it's good but not very freespacey to my way of looking at it. Also, it'd be better as a small ship - a fast assault cruiser maybe, with all those engines, or a monitor if you could mount a big cannon on that big flat bit - anti-capship missiles maybe.

If we keep to the same ol, same ol designs and what not, this sim in my opinion will get boring real fast. Things change, new designs with new technologies, new ways to do things and we also incorporate alien technologies as time goes by. So things WILL change and this design is a fine representation of such.
I also agree it would look better as a smaller cap ship such as a Cruiser type.

Cube.

I meant it from a technical perspective, not an opinionated one.  This would probably fall better in Battlestar Galactica or something.  Of course, this is subject to anyone's opinion.

I could see it as a B5 universe ship if it had the same style engines.

take off some of the fins, and it might work.

Now at 1700 polygons, 3300 triangles (400 polygon drop, 800 triangle drop). O'ficiant!

An expansion to the model!  Hurray!!!   :D

It's called a turret!  It's designed to put holes through things.   :P

That texture makes it look like it's made of rock, in my opinion. ;)
