Title: Vista problem that I'm too lazy to search for.
Post by: Retsof on March 22, 2009, 11:03:10 pm
Okay, so heres the thing, it's fine as long as I;m not looking at anything, so I can get the pretty backgrounds just fine, but as soon as I look a a ship evrything screws up.  The HUD looses its trascparency because it is replicating itself in every frame, and ships (or thier engines anyway, didn't bother to look closely) leave a trail all across the screen untill you turn away, where the nastiness dissapears and sutff goes back to normal.  Could it have something to do with that I copied my FSO stuff over from my old comp?  Thanks in advance for any help provided.

Does your graphics card have the most up-to-date drivers, and do you have enough RAM?

Well, unless any new drivers have come out in the three weeks since I got the comp....

Ran into some problems before with Vista. If nothing on the support boards work out, you could always remove and start fresh. >_o

I never run with these problem before. Just only the sound card but I fixed it with an updated driver file.

Im running it fine on 64bit Vista. The weirdest problem I have is having Tempest missiles as the only option for loadout and the Afterburner giving the misfiring sound when you use it, and it not working.

Hmm.  Have you been switching back and forth between mods with only one pilot file?

Yeah but Im not that lame. I have a seperate install for 'classic' FS2 and one for SCP. When I switched it had the known loadout problems.. but i dont remember what caused the afterburner bug.. it hasnt been a problem in a long time.
