Title: Trying to beautify the GTF Ezechiel
Post by: Krelus on March 28, 2009, 09:30:10 pm
In my campaign, I plan on using the GTF Ezechiel. The problem is, it only has simple .pcx textures without shine or normal maps, and since everything else I have has normals and whatnot, it looks... odd.

After banging around for a few hours with CrazyBump and Gimp, it's become readily apparent that I have no idea what I'm doing, and all I've gotten thus far is either transparent or shrinkwrapped-looking fighters (yeah).

How do I make non-mirrorlike shinemaps? I've made it so that it has varying levels of reflectivity, but I don't like how it completely reflects the nebulae background.

Also, how do I make FS2-friendly Normals with Gimp? The wiki tutorial on this wasn't particularly helpful, at least not to me, at any rate.

Just once I'd like to request aid and not have the answer be stupidly obvious XD

By the way, looks sweet, thanks.
