fs2netd seems offline too for me!
I hope it ll be back before this evening :(
i got a session planned with a friend in about 4/5 hours
-
its still down

Sorry about the delay guys, been a bit internet-lacking the past few days. Unfortunately I won't be able to get the server fixed until tonight.
-
Just so you guys know, FS2NetD is not required for playing an internet game, you can always IP in. I'm not sure if there's a guide to that around here though, would be useful in situations like this. Your only problem then is you wouldn't likely be able to play using FUBAR's standalones unless you knew _their_ IP address in advance.
-
i know thazt we can play without fs2net d , and i have the address's (somewhere looks at the chaos on my desk) of fubars server , i wasjust hoping taylor was going to say .... its ok ive just updated the servers......
i also like using the servers because there is a lobby to wait in an steal beer from fubars mini bar....

i know we can use direct ip but it's easyer to call friend with fs2 netd :D
I'll have soon my 100mb optic fiber web connection, i ll upgrade my computer soon too, i wonder if my actual athlon 3800+ with 2gb ram would be good enough to make it a dedicated server, and if ya, is it possible/powerfull enough to host more than one session on this server?
-
You can make a dedicated server on just about anything that will run the launcher. Remember it's not doing any graphics stuff just processing packets. I would probably still be running a standalone on my P3 866 with 768meg of RAM if FS2 didn't complain about the graphics card. It's more then powerful enough for a standalone if it's not running anything else.
-
ah that"s good to hear :)
my planning was to make 2/3 virtual server on my computer to run different instance of game (different mod), but i don't know how fs2 would react with virtual machines.

Still down. Too long without multi. Going into withdrawal. Need fix..............

It's fixed (for me anyhow.)

Oh really? I might be able to do that--hosting the FSPort server, that is. I have a secondary PC I use mainly for rendering and LAN parties that would do nicely.
How do I set it up so it appears on FS2netD?
-
Simple multi.cfg file. You can use your same login or create one for the standalone.
Here's one of mine:
+datarate 1000000000
+name BDHR Bar & Grill #3 (FSPort)
+pxo #Eleh
+pxo_login BDHR-Standalone
If you use the same password you do for your regular login you don't need to supply a password but you can.

It's down again.

It's fixed again.

Thanks. I'll post on GW so it doesn't get reset again.
