First of all, linking to your question on another board isn't nice. Second, the answer is that you can. However, telling you how to do it would violate HLP's code of conduct. After all, 5$ for the completely legal Good-Old-Games Version isn't that much, is it?

Look, mate. It is illegal to download FreeSpace 2 for free, especially since there's a place to get it from legitimately (Good Old Games (http://www.gog.com)).

Now, we used to allow stuff like this, but now that there's a place to get it from legitimately, we no longer permit **** like this to go down in our hood.

Not being locked doesn't mean anyone is more likely to point you in the right direction.  You haven't even tried to go for a sob story like, boohoo, I'm on Linux and can't use the GOG version, will someone please help me.
