Title: Tag-c
Post by: Sesquipedalian on March 21, 2002, 07:59:35 pm
I've edited a bomber to carry the TAG-C, but the missile doesn't actually tag it target.  Does anyone know why, and how to fix it?

I haven't actually tried the Tag-C out. It probably stinks just as badly as the other TAGs.

The TAG part is an in game thing, controlled by SEXPs. You can't actually fire it and change the target's IFF.

Fix it yourself in the tables, it was never used in the campaign, thus never fully developed.

I detect much confusion in this one.

You can control the TAG missiles in FRED by making SEXPs (or events) in event editor. There are a couple of TAG SEXPs. (has-been-tagged-delay etc.)

I am a little out of my league here, but the actual "tag" effect is a weapons table entry, is it not?  ($tag)  The tag-c has a different value for this, so changing it to match the other tage should make it behave in the same way I would think.

SEXPs only fire the beams at tagged ships, not establish the yellow "tagged" iff status.

Maybe the TAG-C was made to be used with SSM when :v: realised that the targetting laser was a piece of crap.

Maybe but I don't think that TL is a crap (at least not in my campaign)

I take it that you've given it uber-damage.
