I think the game is too hard even on very easy difficulty. I can't kill destroyers with one shot of my ml-16. I want ml-16's to be effective against shields. I want only my fighter to have shields in subspace and no one else. I want the bad guys to sit there and not shoot. I want the bad guys to not move. When the bad guys sortie fighters and bombers, how come they don't just sit there 100 meters out of the fighters bays and not shoot? The lucifer shouldn't have shields, don't the shivans know that's unfair? The game always calls me alpha 1, it doesn't call me superfrier as expected. When the bad guys shoot me, that's not nice.

We should get them a boxing bag, they can turn all there anger on that rather than on other species. Why do they move around? It's hard to hit them, they should stop. And eighty saths? That's overkill, should be more like 8 scorpions without shields and don't move or fire.

I don't want shields. I don't even want a fighter. I just want to be dropped into the mission in a space suit with a jetpack. I will then fly to the enemy fighters, punch in the canopy and kill the pilots with a knife, even Shivans. :arrr:

FS2 should be like Red Alter 3.
Only without the russians, chinese and the allies.... And without the bears, dolphins and tanks. And the strategic combat. And it should be set into the future, where starships and fighters fight out out with beam cannons.

Shivans should have a better arsenal of primary and secondary weapons. The ones they have, used for obvious balancing reasons, aren't powerful enough.

Support ships are bugged; they refuse to stay docked and act as a turret + bonus pair of thrusters.

Quick fix: Erinyes with full BFRed loadout. Zoom out and hold down left mouse button. Move mouse randomly. Hear random explosions. See red dots on the radar disappear randomly. Note how Sathanas fleet lasts five minutes.

For some reason it seems like when you fire beams you have to stay in one position or else the beams don't do anything.
Like fighters directly in front or at least in a 15 degree cone get shafted, I do a 180 and fighters will just sunbathe in it and not get harmed.

The Reaper is an Ancient weapon? Wat?

That's the only thing it could be. I'm staring at the tech database right now. It hasn't got a designation, but it's lumped in with the other turret lasers, and the Terran, Vasudan, and Shivan ones are all listed as Terran, EA, Shivan, or Vasudan. Deductive reasoning points to the Ancients.

The bad guys should totally only be flying serapises. You won't have to glare at them so long.

Don't think you'd even need to glare - a mildly irritated glance could wipe out a whole wing of those things.

Wouldn't it be cool if they had a spin off of freespace 2 that was a real time strategy game (eg. Red alert, Age of Empires, Impossible Creatures, and I don't have many games so that's all i can think of). How they would do it is beyond me though, rts games wouldn't like 3 dimensions i'd suppose (but they do have layered planes, but not 3 dimensions)

If someone bumps a sticky thread, it's not a necro. If someone bumps an old thread with a post that is solidly on topic and applicable to the old thread it's not a necro. If someone bumps an old thread and provides an answer to a question that the original poster expected and still expects to be answered, it's not a necro.
Lucika's post is not a necro because:
1. The post was relevant to the topic and applicable, despite sounding weird; and
2. The post answers the question put forward by the title of this thread, in this case the question being, "How i want fs to be" and the answers being "...do not give the Shivans any ship at all!" and "...no one should have ships except Alpha 1."
Hence, Lucika's post was not a necro, but a bump. A bump is not a necro.

For the umpteenth time, I wish I could consign that necro beam to the fiery pits of hell where it belongs. We mods are perfectly capable of determining whether or not a new post represents a legitimate bumping of a thread...we don't need people beam-spamming all over the place to tell us how to do our jobs.

I want a fighter which is stealthed, twice the speed and maneuverability of a dragon, 16 gun mounts all mounted with BFReds with no energy consumption, missle banks filled with 10,000 tornados with triple damage, infinite maneuverability, and fire in swarms of fifty, also five turrets with ULTRA AAAs, and has the hitpoints and shields of the Colossus. I'll call it the Chuck Norris.

Note that infinite maneuverability means 0 maneuverability since the slightest touch on your controls makes your dream ship start rolling around in an endless loop.
