Title: What now?
Post by: IronForge on April 08, 2009, 06:40:01 am
First of all, congretulations on the STR campaign!!!
Many of the missions were fun, some were boring, but most were good.
Thanks so much.

But now the question remains, what's going to become of you guys now?
Any plans for the future?

We already have a high poly Orion.

The low poly vanilla Orions in ST: R are used for purposes of retail compatibility (no texture replacement in retail, need new model for nameplates).

The FSPort roadmap is as follows:
1) Finish the Phoenix secret project.
2) Finish some unfinished secret ST:R stuff.
3) Polish off Operation Templar and make it Port-compatible.

After that, I think Galemp wants to do a few more things, but that's essentially it.  We'll probably Port a few campaigns in the future, if there's demand and if the FSCRP doesn't get to them first.  We'll also be working on other campaigns, like the Terran Vasudan War Project and the Scroll of Atankharzim.

The low poly vanilla Orions in ST: R are used for purposes of retail compatibility (no texture replacement in retail, need new model for nameplates).
When 3.6.11 comes out, the Orions will automatically switch to the high-poly versions if you have the mediaVPs installed.

I'm working on a lot of loose ends with the interface art, plus there's more Vasudan voice files that need mixing. And yes, secret ST:R stuff. After that, there's always the Freespace Upgrade Project. Eventually the entire FS1 fleet should be done.

Not until the summer, though. I have plans for the next few weeks. ;7

WAit... I thought Scroll of A was dead?
And no movement for TV war for some time now  :blah:

Anyway if you're going to make it then I guess... GO FOR IT!!  :)

Anyways yeah I really liked the STR campaign  thanks for that, just that some of the more boring ones would include being killed at the very end and having to restart all over (too long missions XD)

So don't get me wrong, it was great. Just that some of the escort missions were too long. Also you know those parts of missions where more and more hostiles come right at you until the timer expires then the next mission event starts? Thats what I'm talking about  :doubt:  but some others like that, as for me I just use `K cheat on them.

Because most of their active members were working on ST:R :p

And just because they don't show you doesn't mean nothing's happening.

Before I left I got a lot of weapons art done. Currently Audacity is being a huge pain in the butt.

We're also finishing up some loose ends in the interface, like the briefing icons. :)

[EDIT]Go me, posted in a week-old thread.
