Title: Happy Easter
Post by: Liberator on April 12, 2009, 06:17:56 am
Some two millenia and a few years ago, a man of humble origins was hung on a cross until dead.  He was buried in a borrowed tomb with borrowed linen.  Three days later, the stone sealing the tomb was pushed aside and he walked out alive, resurrected.

This the day of the year that all of Christendom celebrates the resurrection of Jesus Christ.  Even beyond Christmas, this is the holiest day on the Christian calender.

So on this day of celebration I wish you and yours the best possible wishes for your wellbeing and continuation of the same.

As an aside, I would prefer any discussions of this holiday and the event it celebrates take place in a separate thread.  This one is for well wishes and celebratory messages.

May God bless you and keep you on this day and help you in your travels in the days, weeks and years to come.

\o/ Enjoy your Zombie Jesus day.

All else aside, Jesus' ressurection proves that there is a modicum of justice in the universe.

*facepalm*

I'm atheist but I try to show more respect towards Christianity than you. Easter is one of the many ways to stay together with relatives and friends, not everyone cares about the religious meaning.

I care about the religious meaning, but I just haven't been in the mood for chocolate lately...I've been pretty lazy in regards to it

I respect your right to your opinion. I do not have to respect your opinion. That's madness.

Besides. Respect the son, not the father. I've made that clear before.

Happy Easter, everyone.

Ironically, I was browsing flash games and came across a game involving killing bunnies. And I "finished" the game :doubt: .

The irony. I woke up with a massive goddamn toothache today. I think it might be a cavity.

Jesus did not die at age 0.

Jesus was not born in 0 B.C./A.D. either.

Depends. Based on astronomical evidence about the Star of Bethleham Jesus was born in 3 or 4 BC. Based on historical referents in the Bible, he was probably born in 4 AD.

I'll have to check on it, but I think the crucifixion happened circa 33 AD.

Maybe that's why the Cylons come every 33 minutes.

Except the crucifixion hadn't happened back then.

ester was a pagan holiday, i thought it was common knoldedge that the early bible thumpers mapped xtain events onto pagan holidays to convert more pagans into bible thumpers. same goes for satanmas.

Did Nuke's pointing that out actually retroactively ruin your Easter?

That's ****ing awesome. Nuke's nihilistic efforts actually have time-traveling properties.

He is correct in the paganism comment though.  Where the heck did you think the egg thing came from?  Sure as hell wasn't established Christian tradiation (well, now it is, lol).  Christians just adopted it as a conversion tool.  Same with the day Christmas falls on, not the premise.
