The words in .doc files on AE's flash drive are being projected onto textures.
Want proof? Look at "Chakram" in the top-left. Notice the error line?

That's happened to me before, too. I noticed on one of the super-shiny textures when playing through Blue Planet.
Maybe a Mac thing?
-
That's Epik
-
Just be glad it wasn't porn it put there.
-
Definitely a mac thing. Oddly didn't exist before shaders were introduced (though happens even with -no_glsl). It has to do with the generation of environmental maps.

:nervous:
That would be kinda' cool

:wtf:

That'd be great!
Instead of pinup girls on the ships, we could have Harry Potter text, Girls Gone Wild Videos. Caramelldansen.
Oh imagine all the kooky stuff we could put on the sides of ships!

Oh wow, that would be an effective pyschological effect against humans, every time you get close to the Ravana Caramelldansen starts playing over the Com.
"MAKE IT STOP COMMAND! I CAN'T GET IT OUT OF MY HEAD!"

Meh. Disco Inferno was better.
Burn, baby burn!

Vasudan pin-up!
*runs*

An0n did make an Elysium with a nude Jeri Ryan on the side. :P

OHRLY?

I don't believe you. You'd have to PM me that to prove your claim.
And any other examples you may have. For research purposes.

Yarly. I don't have it anymore, it wasn't a good enough rez to figure out what it was ingame. :P

ARGHHH!
That would've made the McCarthy mission SO much more interesting!

As do I...for what... he said... ;7

It was on Hades Combine.

I could stand Caramelldansen.
At least it's not hare hare yukai.
That would cause all the pilots to spontaneously commit suicide.

As soon as I find an excuse to have rap music as a mission soundtrack I'm going to subject you all to killing Shivans against various African-Americans spouting rhyming descriptions of weapons and ammunition with the occasional rhyming expletive :) And don't forget the beat

For some reason I feel like pwning Vasudans to that beat

I still think the bugs caused by Aten's model hierarchy were more epic.
This looks more like the information on the RAM isn't properly overridden by env maps generating, but the game still uses the supposed memory location of the envmaps - and if there's some valid image data there, the game doesn't realize it's not a proper env map and will use that in stead of the proper environmental map... causing this hilarious hilarious glitch.
Just my gut feeling of what might be behind the issue. Turning env mapping off might be an experiment worth trying...

I have experimented with this issue extensively. It definitely seems to be using the wrong data to generate the env map, but when a pregenerated env map is used, everything looks fine. Also, the background itself is displayed fine, so it definitely has to do just with env mapping. Turning -env off makes it go away (but of course no env maps then). This problem existed in the old shader XT builds, as well as all shader-enabled trunk builds, but it is not related to shaders as it occurs even when -no_glsl is set, and shaders are nowhere to be found.
-
Why would you WANT to make it go away?
-
Suddenly, the thought of enemy ships covered in demoralizing propaganda seems really cool. :drevil:
-
well obviously it's a render to texture issue.

Whaaaaa...?
-
Let it be known as the Chakram bug.
Someone should play around with it, and, as suggested, put some easter eggs in.
-
That actually sounds pretty good, if somewhat illogical.

Xena.

If this gets "fixed" , someone make sure there is an option to turn it on or off  .
-
It becomes a feature.

Wouldn't simply removing the flash drive do that?
-
Or not running Microsoft Word for Mac 2008... :nervous:

I love the warrior princess.
