IIRC, before he deleted it, Devil_orchestra asked whether there is a way around what he described as the AI always breaking into circling under fire. didn't quite understand it, myself.

oh I see...... well AI tends to be a little stupid on easy or medium, but if you want a bigger challenge you just need to play the game on insane, haven't been able to win all missions on insane so far... and I've been playing freespace for a while now. (and if you are wondering... no, I'm not ashamed about not being able to win on insane!)
