I have tryed the one from Descent Network, but when I run the programme, a DOS window just opens for 2 seconds and closes, so I can't run the thing. It is in a zip file named: cob2fs2-1
By the way, I am using Windows 98 First Edition.
Please tell me where i can find a better converter.
Thanks in advance

I know, downloaded this one too. Maybe I know how to convert with it but it's too hard to explain. Umm, I'll mail a better converter to you OK? :D

Here's COB2FS2 with a GUI: ftp://ftp2.3ddownloads.com/86861/volitionwatch/freespace/cob2pof/cob2pof1-0.zip

Sure. First browse to the file you want to convert. (in infile) then give your output file a name (in outfile) and then click to "to FS2" or to "FS1" :D

The DOS version of the COB2FS program is a command-line program that you have to run from a DOS window, assuming you remember how to use DOS that is.
First, place the COB2FS program in the directory with your *.COB file(s). Then you open a DOS window and navigate to the folder with your *.COB files and the COB2FS program in it (screeming "I hate text interface!" the whole way). Once there, you simply type the following at the command prompt:
COB2FS yourfile.cob [enter]
...and that's all there is to it. do not forget the *.cob extension or it will whine and kick a "file not found" error at you. When it is done (assuming it encountered no errors in the mesh) it will generate a file called "test.cob".
