Title: Help requested for modeling
Post by: CP5670 on March 23, 2002, 02:50:33 pm
Hey everyone,

I need to make some changes to an existing capital ship model for my campaign based on a few concept sketches I have drawn, but I am a total newbie to 3D modeling and I wouldn't be able to do a good job of it. Would any of you here be able to do this for my campaign? I can provide some drawings for reference along with the textures. I will take care of the additional pof data; you don't need to worry about that. I just need one of the models slightly changed around and textured accordingly. ;)

I won't give too many other details here so as not to ruin anything in the campaign story. :p:D

Anyway, is anyone interested? Contact me at [email protected] or post here if so. :)

I don't have Truespace for the hierarchy data but I might be able to get someone else to do that. ;)

Tell you what; could you two give me your email addresses? I can send you the information needed and we'll go from there. :)

If either wEvil or KMN do it, I can translate to COB for them. :)

Hades. I have a modified version ready, but it is the same model with new textures and more turrets (turrets courtesy of fulgrymm). I basically want to change some of the model data and map a new texture or two on there. ;)

KMN, I will send you an email containg the necessary information in a day or two. My scanner is currently inoperative, so I cannot copy the sketches I have made; my dad said that he can get it scanned at his work, but since today is a Sunday I have to wait for tomorrow for that. ;) Anyway, thanks for offering to help. :)

your not wanting any acaul structural changes? replaceing the old maps can be done with pcs alone

I wanted to change the textures as well, but that has already been done. ;) The things that I cannot do are basically the editing of the actual model geometry (need to make some changes to that) and the adding of an additional texture on a few of the faces.

Great, but I don't know your email address yet. ;) I will send you a copy of that mail once you give me the address. :)

yeah, you can just remove the whole part there. ;) (cut it off to about the same height as the "body" of the ship)
