I know how to make my own capital ships, but is there a way to make a ship bigger than the colossus using truespace?

Yeah. Just make it real big.

Make it as big as you can then resize it in truespace. You can then make it as big as you want.

I tried a simple cube in truespace and set the x= 2km, y= 1.3km, and z = 6.1km and textured it. and I copied the exact table file data of the colossus and the only changes I made to it was the name and the name of the pof file to use. When I put them in the right folders and booted up fred2 and it gave me an error. Is there a limit to how large a ship can be in truespace?

There is no limit (that I know of)
I have a stable Gigas in Truespace which is 23.6km in game. I had an unstable Gigas in Truespace which is 200km long and works in game (crashes in Fred)
Don't go by Truespace scales, they're wrong. Open the POF in Modviw32 at it gives you the actual sizes.

No set limit I think, but at some FRED2 or FreeSpace will crash. Really, big (exceedingly) models arn't practical. One just cannot fly long enough to see it all.

Killmenow made a sphere about 250 000 km of diameter, so I don't think there is a size limit, only a poly or vertice limit, that's all.

I got something to show up in fred2 but it was exactly like the earth mod or atmosphere mod the max made. There was a little circle but when I targeted my ship no matter how close I got my weapons could not shoot at it , but when I turn my ship hostile torpedoes when locked can hit it. Is there something in the table file that i'm supposed to set. I will try to get a working mod to show you guys if anyone is interested in helping.

The subspace model is probably the biggest model in the game (in terms of distance, not polys).

Is it really so big? I though that was a special one, set as background or something like this... So you can't fly close to it. I should try to find its pof in the vp file.

The size of the subspace model in fs metres is 25*25*334
