Title: First topic in a long time (24 related)
Post by: Charismatic on May 08, 2009, 01:21:36 pm
POSSIBLE SPOILERS:

Will Jack die? What will happen with Kim & Jack? Will she go back for him and force the experimental cure on him?

What side is Tony on? It seems hes gonna betray the group...but theirs no reason for nearly killing Jack, or not telling him. Will tony have a cure? Will the group?

They haven't brought a 'how to save jack' storyline in besides Kim, and they left that alone for now... and only 3 episodes left? 3-4. So its getting close and I'm gettin worried.

Never thought he could\would die until this season (consistently).

I used to like 24 but now I HATE IT HATE IT HATE IT

Fox's products and agenda has made its way into the overt on 24. I am sick of seeing Sprint phones flashed in my eyes, and people discussing the necessity of torture to get real information.

I won't spoil anything but hint 1) He's Jack Bauer, you seriously think some bio-virus is going to kill him? Really? 2) Kiefer Sutherland, barring going to prison too many more times, is still in a contract for I think two more seasons. You figure it out.

So you see sprint phones and cisco networks and dell laptops. Big deal. How does that impact your watching the show? Also, the discussion of torture is pretty poignant, especially considering the ish that's gone down with the Obama-administration and the CIA. Maybe they overplayed it slightly, but that's more related to the real-time aspect of the show.

I don't like having brand names shoved down my throat while watching a show/movie.

I don't like having brand names shoved down my throat while watching a show/movie.

I guarantee you they spend no more than 3 seconds full on-screen time focusing on brand logos during a forty-minute episode. And even then, it's usually a brand logo adjacent to a story related piece of information or equipment. Would it make you felt better if they same camera angles were used, but any name or logo were painted over black instead?

What do you mean Gibbs killed him? Whos Gibbs?

And well, they are playing his soon to be dead fact very nicely. As i said, its advancing very fast and no immediate cure, it may be too late.
2) Two more Seasons..? What i heard is season 8 is the last season, where they are going to 'blow up the world'. And i heard they might or might not kill him off.. they mentioned wanting to do some Movies after season 8...
Can you confirm that its whole seasons or is it a time based thing?

I can confirm that by seasons, I meant TV seasons and not real-time seasons, ironically enough. Other than that, I'd have to run a google search.

I can say for sure your room has more product placement ads than that show.

This is the only 24 thread iv seen on HLP in a while i thought it would pick up more than it has.

Seriously this is the best season yet, and now they made it better. They threw Kim into the mix.

So do you guys think Kim will die, and Jack will loose his last chance with his daughter?

No.

But he will go beserk and kill everyone just in time for her to tell him he has a granddaughter and to let her give him the cure, so he can stay alive for another season.

In seasons 1-6 they gave us the outstanding impression he will do whatever it takes for his daughter. Kill anyone do anything. That is simply not true. He did not sacrifice the guard at the shipyard docks, he did not kill the FBI chick when he was with Almieda undercover.... and many other examples. His concience is too...good and has few exceptions. He will keep people alive even when its not best for them to stay alive. He will rescue his daughter but without doing too much harm.

Season 8..
I want to see Jack turn dark in Season 8. Real dark. Kill people, civilians, enemies without hesitation and mercy, whatever. None of this 'they have information i need' ****, just shoot them dead and find another lead.
I want to see Jack kill Chang that bastard, and i want to see the Chineese pay for what they did to him. And i want to see Audry back in action.

Except that's not his character. And the whole point of this season is that he was coming to a "lighter" side of where he'd been, with CTU being the dark Big Brother organization that it was. It wouldn't make much sense for Jack to return to his darker 1-6 self. The only way he could is if they killed Kim. But that'd be boring, because it'd be about the same as when Terry was killed by Nina.

Oh no. If Kim was killed, lets say by Chang, Bauer would personally break into a US missle silo and nuke China himself. Then he'd fly a plane over there, while USA and China are in a full blown war, and kill off the population one by one himself.

He'd fall into the same dark place? No he would go way further. Way further. He would have absoultely nothign to loose but vengence.

He had nothing to lose this season (until they brought Kim back, which is kind of lame imo) - the whole reason he exposed himself to the nerve gas.

He's not retarded. He knew going into nerve gas truck that was shot up with a leaking sound = getting exposed.

So yeah... hurray for cliffhangers?

What cliffhanger?

They'll run one episode next season for Jack's funeral; of course he's going to live.

Call me a pessimist but I really disliked the last 15 minutes of the finale.

Why did Jack call the Imam?

Then, they make it look like he only has a few minutes to love, but somehow Kim's stem cells (multipotent, if potent at all) can bring him back from a latened stage of infection. COME ON

Kim's stem cells can do whatever they want against a fictional disease. Though I'm still not sure how there's a "risk" to her life at all. And he called the imam because they came to an understand of mutual respect earlier, and he figured he was just about to die with a ton of **** on his conscious. What else is he going to do?

Upon further reflection after seeing the finale, going back to I think what Charismatic was trying to get at - Tony was really the embodiment of what Jack would look like if he truly lost everything. I think this was the whole point of the season, with Tony pulling the wool over everyone's eyes. The only person who could potentially rival Jack is Tony. We merely got to view two opposing sides of the same coin.
