Descent apparently works as well, but rather slowly.

Tell us when it runs Windows 98 well, so we can at least play retail Freespace 2 on it. Imagine using a Wiimote as a motion sensitive joystick!

People have already figured out how to use the Wiimote as a PC controller, so you could theoretically do that even now. :p

Remember, this is the Wii we're talking about. The thing has been hacked to pieces at this point but I don't see it running FS any time soon. =P

Actually, porting freespace should be doable, but it'd be a roundabout way playing it in dosbox, really.

The original Descent (and Descent II, for that matter) ran on DOS, so one would imagine so. :p

Not just doable, but done. XD The beta came out yesterday. I'd link it but I don't know the rules on console homebrew here.

I gave it a shot and it's actually rather stable. Because of RAM limitations it obviously won't look as pretty as on your PC, but chances are that small things like better warp effects and the 3D radar will be added.

Hah, that's great, I might even give it a try. Depending on how awful the controls are, I might even enjoy it.
