Man, that takes me back. Nothing was better than the original Power Rangers back when I was a youngling. :DStrange, there was nothing I ever hated more...

Imagine, if you will, that you are fighting for your life. The enemy is overwhelming, and you are being pushed back.
Suddenly, an allied destroyer appears.
This music plays as it emerges from subspace.

Friendly fighters swarm out, and beams strike the hulls of enemy warships - the battle is swiftly won.
I have toyed with evil ideas such as subjecting a player to J-Pop from nowhere in a mission, but for the most part I'm not crazy enough to actually do it.And I wouldn't mind this one, too, depending on what J-pop it is ^^

I've seen something similar done in a Youtube video of a guy playing through a shmup. Had a heavy metal soundtrack all the way through, then he put "Motteke! Sailor Fuku" as the music during the boss battle, with the caption "You weren't expecting that, were you."
I lol'ed hard. :)

Strange urges for music? No no, just when I get up or when I see pictures of videos. Never music though.
I actually have a side-job in the works, called "Metal Battalion." It's a campaign that will feature among other things tracks by Judas Priest and Iron Maiden. The campaign description is currently set to "Blow crap up whilst listening to kickass music."This... would be a great campaign. Put some Dragonforce in there and we're all set.
I must find a way to sneak in the Power Rangers theme.
That would actually get me pumped up lol
I have some taste, you'd probably get something you recognize...
...or maybe not if it was You Get To Burning, but then it's your own damn fault.
I think he meant what kind of J-pop it is, not what J-Pop means.Exactly :)

Honestly Metal would just kill the feel of space combat for me. :doubt:
Anything with vocals is just horrible space battle music if you're involved with it. Watching one isn't all that bad, especially when they use a choir like Immediate Music tracks do.
Aim is an excellent track for space battles, Lethal Laser and No Retreat from Darkstar One are also good.
I can say though Dilmah G has a good selection himself.
Laughs at Andro's new signature. Srsly where do you get all this?HLP IRC Channel. Get Chatzilla FF Addon and click the "IRC" link on the top.

I remember that you could always tell when one of my college mates had an exam.I feel like one could make a great many kickin' FS videos set to the sweet sounds of AC/DC.
You could hear 'Thunderstruck' played full-bore from just about anywhere in the college.
Those two are good.

My only musical suggestion is to find instrumental versions of select Nightwish tracks, which makes me wonder why i'm not listening to it now...Ghost Love Score and Nemo.:yes:

Great to see someone else enjoys that band. :D
I recently discovered that Dark chest of wonders also makes for pretty good battlemusic. My only musical suggestion is to find instrumental versions of select Nightwish tracks, which makes me wonder why i'm not listening to it now...Ghost Love Score and Nemo.:yes:

I was thinking more along the lines of Sacrament of Wilderness, Fantasmic, Moondance, and maybe Ever Dream.
On a side note, I don't care for the new lead singer.

I remember that High Noon 2.0 was using some of music from there.
Yes. ;7I remember that High Noon 2.0 was using some of music from there.
Yeah, I love that site. I got the whole in-mission soundtrack from one of the Electro-Rock albums, in fact I'm pretty sure apart from the BoE's half the reason Commander Zane plays my missions is for the music :P
I always thought about making a mission using ABBA which caused the majority of the GTVA fleet to self destruct and the player to turn off the sound while saying "It burns! It burns!!".Maybe a big band number... or a primary school choir :P

10th Man Down goes with any sort of combat in my opinion...Ive seen it put to Sailor Moon for christ's sake!

And that was pretty crappy, but at least Sailor Moon had just barely enough of the right "violence is bad" ethos for it to make sense.
It doesn't really fit the FS ethos, for that very reason. If we had stopped at the Terran-Vasudan War, it would have, but the Shivans are wearing the black hats and are a threat that can only be met with and dealt with violently.
