Are there any ways to create new methods for selecting weapons, such as having a fixed amount of money with which to buy them, or would this require source code modifications?

This is just a theory but in the event logs of the missions and campaigns. Example whenever you pass so many missions with all primary, secondary, and bonus objectives complete. Open whatever weapon like cyclops torp or something. But it is a thought but I will tinker with it.

Is there some way to do an inter-mission counter (like the in mission variables).
Or another way would be to read the players score...
