Title: Modular IFF Tables?
Post by: Aardwolf on May 18, 2009, 09:56:37 am
I thought I remembered this feature being implemented, but the wiki seems to say otherwise.

Does it exist in trunk?

Does it exist in someone's branch?

If it doesn't exist and I wanted to write it, is there any big risk of breaking stuff (like player files)?

No, this feature doesn't exist.  Iff_defs doesn't lend itself well to being modular, since most of the IFFs reference other IFFs.

Hm... true that.

I was thinking I might put certain 'special' ships from the RTS mod on their own team (particularly because I was sick of having the stupid AI try to attack my console). But now that I think about it, sexp-given orders override IFF, don't they?

Not always. But why don't you just override the existing AI table with one of your own?
