Title: Is there a way I can extract FS2 Models into 3DStudio Max?

I've been wanting to get the original FS2 models into Max so I could convert them into formats for use in other games like Homeworld or ST:A2

...or convert to .cob and save the files as 3DS MAX files. I'm pretty sure it lets you do that...

download VP view...extract all models and maps to a directory... use POF Constructer suite to convert the models to .cob format. Then use 3d Exploration to change the .cobs to .3ds, and there ya go...
