Title: Could not load in main hall mask'2_mainhall_galatea-m'

Hi, i installed FSO last week and it was running perfectly. Yesterday after playing the fsport I went back to FS2, when i chose a profile there was an error: Could not load in main hall mask'2_mainhall_galatea-m'

It said i was likely missing interface art, i tried vanilla fs2 to see if it was affected too and it was so i reinstalled vanilla but the problem is till there  :mad:. The fsport still runs fine.

What file do i need to replace?

Are you trying to move on to the FS2 campaign with the same pilot? It can be done but it's a bit tricky. It would be preferrable to have one pilot per mod. Create a new pilot (or clone your current one) and use it to play the FS2 campaign.

Run the debug build (the one with a filename ending in d.exe rather than r.exe) and post the fs2_open.log you'll find in your data folder. I suspect this is due to the wrong mod being run but the log will help determine exactly how that's the case.

I do use separate profiles for each mod i play.

Ah. It would seem that the basics of FSO are not yet familiar to you. Each mod must be in its own subfolder under \freespace2\ . As in, the MediaVPs must be in \freespace2\mediavps\ (and they seem to be), Derelict in \freespace2\derelict\, FSPort in \freespace2\fsport\, Cardinal Spear in \freespace2\cardinalspear\, ST:R in \freespace2\str\ and so on. You'll then use the mod enabling function of the Launcher to select a mod. I'm actually surprised that you've been able to play FSPort when Cardinal Spear and Derelict have been there, overriding stuff.

Also, your MV_Complete might be corrupt, since it is supposed to contain >5000 files.

In addition, do switch your colours to 32-bit. 16-bit colours may also cause problems.

Thanks for the help it worked  ;)

Just one more question. i'm at the great hunt mission in fso but i still only have the subach, disruptor, rockeye and tempest. Is it meant to be this way? in vanilla you have the hornet, harpoon and prom by this mission

I believe you have a corrupt pilot file. Make sure you use a new pilot for each campaign you play.

I could be wrong, though.

Most likely it is. Creating a new pilot and starting over should solve it. However, if you don't feel like playing through the first missions again, follow the instructions in this thread (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,56279.0.html) (the first part under Gameplay issues). There is a modified campaign file available where the FS2 campaign starts from Slaying Ravana, which is immediately after The Great Hunt.

Did you follow the instructions carefully? Also, are you absolutely sure that you've moved all non-retail .vp files away from the \freespace2\ folder? If not, run the debug build again, post the new fs2_open.log (preferrably using the "code" tags) and we'll take a look.

The weapons are there now, replacing the media vps files worked, thanks anyway
