Well ... Blender will export COB, but with DAE import now available, there are tons of options.

Not sure if I'll miss TrueSpace... :nervous:

Well, I feel bad for the people that liked TrueSpace, but I couldn't stand it.  I like Blender a lot better.

I guess I should to. I tried it, but didn't like it all that much. Never really understood Blender at all, and the program I use is the most suborn in the world for saving and exporting formats.

It's always a down moment when a product line that's been popular comes to an end.

I would download it if you did it, since my trueSpace details are long gone, but wait for more people to express their wish for you to do so first.

It would be great idea to mirror it to FSMods ,it has been already done with TS 3.2 ,but putting better version would be welcome.
I wanted to download it ,but I didn't wanted to give my personal data to Caligari ,so I wanted to ask my father ,who had an account there.
My father never had much time ,so I wanted to wait for weekend ,of course with my luck went down just before.
I would be very glad if you upload TS7 to FSMods Andicirk.

Thing is, Caligari don't verify the email address and details. You can still download it, making it a bit early to mirror.

I've been digging around my hardrive and found the following files dated 21/09/08:

NameSizeDescriptionmd5sum
tS76.exe127.3MBthe program installer itself96aa470a2c4d72dcda3497feb097388e
tS76PDF.exe50.4MBpdf manual5cca97dd4d89eeaad3f3c604ee09802a
tS76Video.exe129.2MBtutorial video? (never got around to trying it)0de61370d930c862ef566d605cc1ed5a

I never really used it for much, but I can upload these if people are sure the md5sums are right (will take a while, though).

I've lost my faith in trueSpace when I realized I could do nothing with 7.6 and there weren't 3.2 mirrors available anymore to revert my version.

I just can't figure out how to make the simplest shapes in ts76.

You may get TS3.2 here: http://www.freespacemods.net/download.php?view.185
It's this FSMods download I mentioned.
I'm not a modeler ,nor an artist of any sort ,but I wanted TS because of converting models to .COB and then to .POF.
I would like to know if there's any free program that can import models in various formats and export them in .DAE.

Yes, it's there, but you can't register it.

Blender is a free application that can import many different formats and export to DAE format.  http://www.blender.org/

Well, I guess that's it then, Blender is now pretty much the king of freespace modeling now.

I downloaded tS 7.6 and all the tutorials they had, even the old ones, and burned it all to a DVD-R.

What I've been searching for ever since the initial release of tS 7.x is the Conversions Pack 2.1 for tS 6.6. The Conversions Pack 2.0 for tS 6.5 does not work with tS 6.6 - in which some quite major updates were made to various things 'under the hood'.

I don't think you guys get the point here, It's not about the short term. It's about the long term. Hell, just read the article and comments. Another fallen to greedy corporations.

TS got what it deserved... it should have been put out of its misery much earlier though.
