Hey all I'm playing through Sol A History using Inferno R1. Check out the way Earth is looking...

Not very good right? I searched a bit before posting this since I'm sure there's just something I need to patch. Couldn't find it though. Could someone show me the way?

I don't know if http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,52159.0.html will fix it. But give it a try. It should have a new Earth bitmap, which will hopefully not have the transparency issue.
Unless you were using that already.

Hey thanks for linking me to that, didn't even know it existed. Not only is Earth fixed but a lot of other stuff looks pretty cool now :-).
-
That's one of the problems with using planet models rather than background bitmaps :doubt:
-
Unfortunately 3D planets work good only if you're very close to them.
-
3D planets never work. Up-close they just become a pixellated excuse for a background.
-
Or you end up flying into the said pixellated thing.
Which is just as bad.
-
It was weird in the campaign, "Return to Sol," when a transport docked with a planet.
-
Wait. Whut.
Docked with a PLANET? Wasn't the scale HORRIBLY OFF?
-
Let's just say that FS gameplay just can't accomplish some things realistically. ;)
-
It was a moon, that was the first fan-made campaign I'd heard of
-
So long as it didn't spin it round and smack everyone with it... That could have been humorous...
-
I want to see that happen now.

Like a Knossos?
/me suddenly gets an idea for the ZOD Songs thread.

Where's the Colossus when you need it?
Batter Batter Swing!!!!

The Colly's rotation time is extremely immense. Though I tried speeding the Colly up and making it manuverable, crushing wings of fighters and even damaging cruisers was quite fun .
-
I would think the Shivans would just turn and run if they see we're fast balling planets at them. :eek2:
-
I want a mission of that now.

Really groovy earth, that one is.
