...wow, that's insane.

I see we are going to have to re-write the words to 'I've never met a nice South African' to 'I've never met a nice South-Georgian' ;)

Like a little Jim Crow time capsule.

holy ****

That was my daily dose of stereotype.
-
:blah: Seriously so what? Oh my God I have Irish heritage, I need to forgo alcohol and potatoes so I don't promote stereotypes. Guess what I like potatoes and I'll have an Irish Car Bomb screw stereotypes.
-
I think I'll go catch some lobster and say "aboot" a lot.
-
Mr. Canadian Stereotype: Let's all go have a beer and watch some hockey, eh?
tinfoil: I can't, looks like I gotta go build my summer igloo. Sorry aboot that.
-
I can't stand watching sports.

Sad, really. The kids from both "communities" are going to grow up and enter a world where people of all cultures and ethnicities mix. It's their parents who are missing out on an enriching part of life. I don't feel anger so much as sadness for people so ignorant that they think skin colour actually matters.

I don't think the point isn't that they live up the stereotype so much as the fact that the reporter felt the need to use a sledgehammer to beat it into us that they did. :D
Pretty much every other reporter would have simply said that they interviewed the black kids and not commented on the surroundings.
-
especially in a story about racism, the guy's seance of irony is god tier.

From what I gathered in the article the problem isn't the kids, they seem to mix freely (elder generations be damned), the problem is the white parents.

I was waiting to see if Kosh was actually going to both read and absorb the content of my post, versus apparently agreeing with me in a correcting tone :P

Awesome. :D
