Title: Throttle problem with Saitek X45, limited to 50% range (solved)
Post by: ScHiZ0 on May 24, 2009, 07:49:10 am
For some strange reason my FSC treats the first half of my joystick throttle as if it were nonexistent. In other words, I have to move the throttle past 50% before I get any input in the game, and consequently at 100% throttle I get only 50% ingame.

Any ideas why this might be happening?

Hmmmm, have you tried recalbrating your joystick in game? Re-do the Z Axis input and see if it makes a difference. Does your throttle go into -%?

The joystick is calibrated in windows yes - as to ingame I have no idea how that is achieved, if such a function exists.

I've remapped the throttle multiple times in the configuration yes.

I don't use joysticks, but there seems to be a "Calibrate" button under the Audio/Joystick tab in the Launcher.

Turns out that windows 7 had messed up the calibration data for the throttle, and was misreporting values to directx.

I was able to resolve the issue using an old Logitech utility DXTweak 2 (http://www.wingmanteam.com/latest_software/gadgets.htm (http://www.wingmanteam.com/latest_software/gadgets.htm)).
