So the title may be a little jarring, but yeah. We've tried playing multi for the past few nights, and each time we reach the commit phase, and right after everyone hits commit, during the Client Performing Sync phase, we lose contact with the server and it doesn't come back up. Help please!

Make sure everyone is using RC2. If anyone tries using an older build it will crash the servers. RC2 is not backward compatible with any other builds.

At what point through the Multi start process will this crash occur?

That sounds like the likely cause. I know I wasn't running RC2 for sure.

I believe it happens right when you hit commit. It sends an invalid packet to the sever crashing it.
BTW they are back up.

.... I fail. Hosting with Knightly 5034 seems to be a bad idea.

And now RC3 is out so I suggest using that instead.

Not for the standalones yet. Haven't updated them. I'll post when I get them changed over.
OK they are all now running RC3.
