Just started the campaign playing the first 2 missions and, while I have primary weapons and they do damage, the shots don't appear on screen. I hear the noise for Balor and Prometheus fire but the bolts don't appear. Good way to fix this?

Unlike some user-made campaigns, BP requires the mediavps to play perfectly graphic-wise.
There is the 3.6.10 patch that allow play the campaign without the mediavps although to date there are some graphical glitches have been identified.
There's an exact topic of your question half way down the main board.

Sorry didn't really look before I posted. Wanted to get it posted before I went out.

Someone should add a quick "Troubleshooting: Invisible Primary Weapons" to the list at the top of this board. A lot of people (including me) had this problem when they first loaded up and the solution is really quite simple.
-
For now. I'm planning on creating a single troubleshooting thread instead of the half a dozen threads that already exist, but since Darius is the man in this project, I want to get his blessing before doing anything drastic.
-
That would be good being that the troubleshooting threads make this board quite messy IMO.
-
It doesn't help that nobody ever looks at the stickied threads, though.
-
But at least there'd be one troubleshooting thread to not look at instead of 5-6.

You'd be amazed that we tend to look at the ones directly beneath them. :drevil:

Well the thing is, the stickied threads are always things that don't really need close attention. Consider the "Celebration of FreeSpace" thread in General FreeSpace Discussion... it's stickied, and usually the topmost in the list, but it'd unimportant. If people get used to stickies being unimportant, they get used to looking for the most recently posted topic below the stickies.
/me reminisces about that time Goober5000 accidentally left a topic he split from a stickied thread stickied... for great justice.

?
Stickied threads are far more reliable. If you leave troubleshooting threads unstickied, they'll easily fall to page 2, 3, 4, N of the board if no one posts on them. That would be a serious problem.

Then again, that's true too.
