Post by: Hestaby on May 31, 2009, 06:00:22 am
as i started fs2 open first time i got this error too, but fixed it with deleting my old player-account and making a new one. that worked. but when fs2 wants to load the 2nd training-mission i get it again..
here is the bugreport:
--------------------------------

Error: Training-2.fs2(line 265:
Error: Required token = [#Wings] or [$Name:], found [+Use Table Score:] .

File:J:\src\cvs\fs2_open_3_6_9.final\code\Parse\PARSELO.CPP
Line: 659

is it a known problem? what went wrong?

First of all, you should get the current 3.6.10 RC3 (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,63492) version of FSO and the launcher (http://fs2source.warpcore.org/exes/Launcher55d.rar), select it in the launcher, then try again.

At least the part that you're using FSO 3.6.9. Even though it is the latest "stable" release, it has some annoying bugs, and newer builds like 3.6.10 RC3 are, in reality, at least as stable as 3.6.9.

Try running a debug build and attempt to load the mission. After the game has crashed in an epic manner, there will be a file called fs2_open.log in your \freespace2\data\ directory. Post it here.

Edit: Additional note. Do as The E said and get FSO 3.6.10 RC3. Run its debug version, since 3.6.10 debug builds create nicer logs.

You have a German version of FS2, don't you? That causes problems with the 3.6.10 MediaVPs. Download this patch (http://www.game-warden.com/starfox/Non_SF_related_stuff/MVP3610BETA/MV_3610_german_hotfix.rar) and place its contents to \freespace2\mediavps\data\tables\ . Create the directory if necessary.
