Title: Questions before I begin...

So since I rediscovered the wickedness that is the FSO universe I have been itching to do some simple modding. I used to be decent at FRED'n so I am going to try some simple ship modelling. I have read up on it but alot of it is over my head lol.

I have 3DS Max 2010 and PS CS4 as well as PS Essentials 7(never use it). I downloaded the POF Constructor Suite 2.

I need to start off with something retardedly simple. I simple wanna make a borg cube.

Goal is to render it in max (make a cube whoopy! lol) - texture it in cs4(no clue) - add some subsystems, fighterbay and some weapons in the pofcs2(no clue). I don't even wanna try glow maps at this point.

Is there anything else I need like any plugin or program?

I have yet to find a simple walkthough on how to do all that. I seen the texturing walkthough - most helpful and impressive. I used to edit the tbls in notepad - I take it the pofcs2 does that now?

Any advice or help would be welcomed and appreciated.

Table editing is still done with notepad.

PCS is used to edit .pofs.
