I'm waiting to hear confirmation that he didn't just misspeak - he might have meant '1943' or 'Bad Company 2'. Unlikely, but possible. I really want it to be true, but I also don't want to be crushed.

I hope its true...I've been waiting for a true Battlefield 2 replacement.  So far nothing has really come along.  I hope that this new one introduces many improvements as I've developed a long personal list over the years of playing it.  Still....sounds exciting! :)
