I have some music on my iPod that is not on my comp anymore. In fact, the comp to what my iTunes was synced to, crashed and now I have a new one. How can I get my music down?

Sell your iPod and start over.

haha i had the exact same dilemna not even 24 hours ago :)
You can copy songs, playlists, etc. to itunes using any number of third party tools.
iPod Access (i've used)
TouchCopy (i've used)
etc.
Pretty straightforward process :)

You can extract the music if you enable hidden folder view in the folder options.
I did this a month ago to transfer my friend's music from his iPod to his PSP.
I can't do that anymore, though. As this random virus seems to have deleted my access to the folder options...

You can't do it within iTunes. The software won't allow it, because they don't want you using the iPod to transfer music from one computer to another. It's a half-assed (but annoying) copy protection scheme that's been around since the first generation of iPods.
As other people have mentioned, there are third-party programs that will do it if you're willing to brave some iffy legality.
