I have to write a report in mla citation format. what the heck is that?

I recommend shooting your teacher, as I can't think of anything that actually required MLA formatting after college.

Citing sources god almighty. Seemed like every year of school there was a different bloody major project that needed a different set of thrice damned citation standards. Never understood why so long as you had a damn bibiliograpghy and properly quoted stuff they couldn't leave well enough alone. Least in college there wasn't so much BS.

MLA is terrible. Most professionals (in the science and technology sector, anyway) use a variation on APA format - which is stunningly easy.
Best advice: If you're going to be writing anything more than one or two papers using MLA format, go spend the $10 and buy an MLA quick-reference book. It'll save your ass, trust me.

Almost all classes that weren't psych classes used MLA.
