Don't know who's doing what, but for those Merkins who post here, we're grilling steaks and burgers and bratwursts and whatnot, lighting low powered explosives on fire and probably drinking lots of adult beverages in some quarters, all in celebration of the creation of the greatest country in the history of the planet. BTW, this is a celebratory thread keep your negative comments to yourself or start a new thread.
A country that is responsible for the mass availability of the automobile, the mass deployment and usage of the steam engine, and well as the pushing of the envelope of both electronic and information technology. Oh yeah, we saved the world twice too. :D
Anyway:
HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!!!

You brought trouble on yourself with that first sentence.
Locked before it turns stupid.

It's still flamebait, Scotty. But it's a decent idea as a thread, so just edit it a bit more, okay? Y'know we've got an international audience, so be a good neighbor.
That 'saved the world' bit should probably go, given how America and the Soviets were the only one to ever get close to destroying it and all the other close calls were definitely team efforts. :(

Indeed. Locked again.
Keep trying. I'm sure someone will eventually manage to get it right. :p

And yet you didn't learn anything. Locked again.
Either you let people be negative or you remove all the stuff that's going to cause problems, strikethrough or not.

Scotty, just make it 'Happy Fourth of July', welcome all the non-Americans, and invite them to have a hamburger. Otherwise it looks like a Trojan Horse to get some jingoism and America pride debate into GenDisc.

I have no problem with a trojan horse. I just reserve the right to turn it into a Greek BBQ no matter how many signs they hang on the side saying "Gift! NOT Burnt Offering!" :p
