I recently tried to get cockpits to work in the game using the method described here

My problem is that whatever ship I activate the cockpit in I loss the ability to use afterburners.
Is there a solution to this problem? I am new here so sorry if its been asked before but I couldn't find any answers using the search function.

Upgrade to a nightly build. There is a bug in older builds that was caused by cockpits setting the wrong ship flag which resulted in them accidentally turning off the afterburner.

I didn't say you were wrong. I don't remember how long ago I fixed it so I knew a nightly would be safe. :D
