Post by: Colonol Dekker on July 11, 2009, 11:36:46 am: IIRC, at le'pub when you showed off your *CLASSIFIED* you may have possibly said that there was a slim chance of maybe providing a glimmer of a chance of helping me to both encode video to .ogg and getting a decoder for the purposes of making FS2 cutscenes :yes:

Any chance anyone else can beat him to it?

I used VirtualDubMod (http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&ct=res&cd=1&url=http%3A%2F%2Fvirtualdubmod.sourceforge.net%2F&ei=JMlYSqCTDo2qtgO176ieCQ&usg=AFQjCNHmkarMBC4hj8xQUSC0JbtR0eFyQw&sig2=BtvCGGocNwKhnimVEITRZA), which can encode into OGG. My totally foolproof method was to extract all frames and the audio track, then recompile them in the encoding format of my choice.

However, it seems to have had lately problems with transcoding Theora, so I've used VLC instead which can transcode videos into Theora/Vorbis ogg-container.

Post by: chief1983 on July 12, 2009, 11:58:30 am: Ogg is a container. The video codec is Theora, the audio is Vorbis. Those are the formats you need to make sure you have support for.
