Hi Guys!
At first - my English is very bad... I had it in school but thats long ago ;D
Well my problem is, that the game runs very slow after a couple of minutes. It doesn't matter whether I run the game with high or slow graphics sooner or later it's unplayable. It "freezes" and the fps are at 1-5.
My machine:
AMD Athlon Core Processor 5200+
2,7 Ghz, 2 GB RAM
nVidia GeForce 7600 GT (newest driver)
Windows XP SP3
The game itself is unpatched and no mods are installed (downloading FreeSpace Open ;) ).
Any suggestions?
Found something about a registry hack but I didn't find anything about it. At the moment I download the newest patch but I don't think that will solve the problem...

Unless I'm terribly mistaken, FreeSpace Open should correct this.

As a side note, it never ceases to amaze me how the vast majority of people who profess "My English isn't very good" speak it far better than the majority of native speakers. :p

Well, you should patch it. Especially if you're going to use FSO. I don't know about any official patch download links, but this "HotU Crack Pack" (http://homepage.ntlworld.com/karajorma/FAQ/Downloads/HotUv1.20Pack.rar) actually contains the updated files that were changed between 1.0 and 1.2.

Yes.

I think the disclaimer about their English is more so we know not to talk like a bunch of hicks so they can understand us :)
