Enter it in the mainhall.
Did anyone know about this one?

Yeah yeah. I discovered it randomly while looking for a way to override the behavior of the escape key in-game.
And then chief1983 noticed the same dialog box appears when you press '3' in debug mode, and I was like "hey did you know blahblahblah"
-
Does it seriously work?

Yes, you type the fielname of the mission (minus .fs2) and press enter and you go straight to it.
-
Ah, so it's filename based. I hadn't tested what sort of input the dialog box took... I only ever bothered to see if it did anything at all.
-
Cool. Had no clue that something that bizarre even existed. :)
-
Nowhere near as odd as the 50/50 code that either spews asteroids or crashes the game. :P
-
Maybe I should stop asking questions... My head's getting dizzy with all these technical things that I never knew about.

Never tried it. What was it, ~U ?
If it's supposed to work, someone should look into that.
-
It works, like I said, half the time.
-
It's never worked once for me. Always crashes the game.
-
Although this is highly unlikely to be the cause, the cheat occasionally worked on 3.6.9 builds but never on 3.6.10. :nervous:
-
Speaking of cheat codes, why does the game pause for 2 seconds when I type www.freespace2.com ?
-
It does that for me too, it may just be the game loading the cheats to allow them to work.
-
I think it's loading weapons - by default, the game doesn't load weapons that aren't used in the mission, but if you start using cheats, you can use all the weapons. In previous SCP versions, the game would crash if you tried to use weapons that weren't in the mission but no longer does, I assume this is why.
